Result: the answer was not long in coming. Indeed, Dominique Spini (who remained in Alain Carignon’s group) replied: “Anne Roche was elected on one list against another that she joined, betraying the people of Grenoble who voted for her. And in terms of ideas, she went from supporting Éric Zemmour and “everything but Macron” to supporting Emmanuel Macron. The purpose of civil society in public life is to promote citizen engagement, and this type of behavior, whose sole compass is the desire to be elected, only drives them away from it. »
But that was only the beginning, since on social networks, accounts have emerged of Anne Roche’s participation in the Reconquest meeting in Voiron during the presidential election, but also of old anti-Macron posts, or not really pro -vax… There is also a video where she advocates “everything except Macron” in the presidential election.
So we contacted her, and she explains: “Yes, I discuss with everyone. Yes, I went to a pro-Zemmour meeting. I wanted to understand, form an opinion. I’m like that, I’m curious about people, different opinions. I also sometimes chat with the Insoumise Élisa Martin or go to work in Antoine Back’s office when my computer is down. I joined the groups of Émilie Chalas and Laurent Thoviste, because they are not in a closed opposition, because they vote first according to the general interest. I feel close to their way of working. So, yes, I don’t like the personality of Emmanuel Macron, but on the political background, I have points of agreement. »
The group “Metropolis of territories of solidarity progress” also sent a press release recalling that Anne Roche had been a member of the Horizons party (of Édouard Philippe) since 2022, before adding: “Everyone has the right to have a political path that is not necessarily linear. Changing people’s minds is the very reason for political engagement. Otherwise there would be no need for elections. We are delighted that Anne Roche has chosen to join the MTPS group and its values, which are obviously the opposite of those of Éric Zemmour. »
“We have the right to make mistakes”
We contacted the president of the centrist group “Metropolis of territories of solidarity progress”, Laurent Thoviste. He told us: “Anne Roche wanted to work with us, she let us know. She explained to us that she had allowed herself to be carried away by Carignon’s list, which did not suit her, and that she went to a Zemmourist meeting, which we did not know, just to see… We have the right to make mistakes in politics. It’s even healthy to recognize that we were wrong. And Anne Roche has accepted our operation, which is a collective operation. So we’ll see in use. »
