At the beginning of last September, a woman was said to have been kidnapped by a gang called Kamanja, in the rural municipality of Anjozorobe. The criminals demanded up to 13 million Ariary in return for his release. Last Thursday, this 40-year-old mother was safely released from the hands of her captors, without payment.
In all that time, however, the gendarmes from the central Imerina regional police station were investigating to find him. It was discovered that there is a person who is highly suspected of being responsible for the abduction, who is none other than the nephew of the wife of the abducted lady. It is said that there was a dispute between this “cousin” of this suspect because of the division of inheritance. When the investigation continued, the gendarmes also found out that the suspect and the abducted woman are friends and are secretly in love.
On September 26, the suspect was arrested by the gendarmes and questioned. Two days later, however, it was said that the woman was also released and was interviewed by the investigators. However, there were many things that were not consistent in his story, so the police officers decided to conduct a thorough investigation. This is where all the truth in this matter was found and now it has come to light. According to the information received, the lady’s boyfriend and her brother-in-law were the mastermind behind the kidnapping and they were together with the lady. The goal is to collect a lot of money from the husband of the latter. It is said that two million ari should be the lady’s share in it. When the latter found out that his friend had been arrested, the woman slowly came out of her hiding place and said that she was free from the hands of the criminals. He also admitted during his interrogation that he and his friend created this kidnapping video together.
In the face of the situation, this lady and her boyfriend were kept in custody together, and will be handed over to the prosecution at the appropriate time. The investigation by the gendarmes is still ongoing, to find the people who may be complicit in this kidnapping.
