But there is also a large group who are outraged by the reactions they have received and are happy that this is being raised by a foreign woman.”

The problem plays against the background of female rights who are increasingly coming under pressure in Turkey, the journalist explains. “People are angry that reactions – such as Anitta receives them in the video – are normalized. Street harassment is a regular occurrence in the country. Many women experience the adverse consequences.”
