More than 160 puppies and kittens were rescued from postal parcels in Chengdu, China last Monday. Had the animals not been discovered by an animal welfare organization, they would have been mailed to various parts of China. One package had to go to an address 1700 kilometers away.
Four animals were already dead at the time of the find, many of the others were infected with viruses.
