Nintendo just let go statistics from this year’s first quarter report, and it’s a very enjoyable read for the Japanese gaming company.
Particular Animal Crossing: New Horizons Impressive: The creepy wildlife simulator is doing just as well and has now sold over 22 million copies in just five months. There are almost twice as many copies sold as the previous game in the series sold a total of only four million copies away from the best-selling game on the Nintendo Switch so far, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
With this, Animal Crossing: New Horizons has thus surpassed the sales figures for both Super Mario Odyssey and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
Good numbers
Other exciting details from the report shows that the Nintendo Switch has sold a total of 61.4 million consoles and that the profit on digital sales on the console has increased by 230 percent compared to the previous year.
In addition, we learn that the two newest Pokémon games, Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield, have sold a total of 18.2 million copies. This makes them the third best-selling Pokémon pair (so far).
