Anies Baswedan Calls Surya Paloh’s Way of Catching a Presidential Candidate as a Breakthrough

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan expressed his respect for the NasDem Party which has included his name in the list of candidates for the 2024 presidential candidate that will be carried by the party.

Anies Baswedan is on the NasDem presidential candidate list along with the TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa and Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo. He appreciated the NasDem Party’s move to include his name as one of the presidential candidates.

According to Anies, the General Chair of the NasDem Party, Surya Paloh, has made a breakthrough in the selection of presidential candidates for the upcoming 2024 presidential election.

“I want to convey respect, because the NasDem Party led by Pak Surya Paloh has made a new breakthrough in which the nomination of names for the national interest is given to regional leaders, because it is the region that proposes names,” Anies said as quoted by Antara, Saturday, June 18, 2022. .

Anies said that he was honored to have his name included in the list of three presidential candidates to be promoted by NasDem. The governor of DKI Jakarta expressed his gratitude because his name was considered by the NasDem Party cadres.

In the future, Anies will continue to carry out his duties and authorities as Governor of DKI Jakarta until October.

“Secondly, at this time I am still carrying out my mandate in Jakarta. The mandate from the people of Jakarta is the main mandate that I must fulfill until October, therefore I must continue to focus on Jakarta affairs,” he said.

In addition to the name Anies Baswedan, there are two other names included in the list recommended by the NasDem Party, namely the TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa and the Governor of Central Java Ganjar Pranowo.

Term of office Anies Baswedan As Governor of DKI Jakarta, the period lasts from 2017 to 2022, so this year will be his last year in office.
