Anies Baswedan Alleges Hacker Attacks and National Security Issues in 2024 Presidential Debate

Presidential candidate number 1 Anies Baswedan alluding to hacker attacks in the third debate for the 2024 presidential election. Anies said that the Ministry of Defense was hacked by hackers in 2023.

Anies initially talked about the challenges facing Indonesia. He mentioned that as many as 160 thousand people died due to the virus attack.

“In recent years, more than 160 thousand people have died not because of military attacks but because of virus attacks. Our cellphones and computers have been attacked by cyber attacks, more than 800 million cyber attacks,” said Anies, in the presidential candidate debate, Sunday (7/1/ 2024).

Anies also touched on human trafficking with a total of 3 thousand victims. Then Anies highlighted the issue of drugs that have invaded Indonesia.

“(As many as) 4.8 million people are exposed to drugs, our families suffer because of these drugs. And that is very painful,” he said.

Anies also said that Indonesia conceded in terms of fish and sand theft. Including the Ministry of Defense which was hacked in 2023.

“Furthermore, the irony is that the Ministry of Defense is the ministry that was hacked by hackers in 2023, which is ironic, because of that we want to return Rp. 700 trillion of the Ministry of Defense’s budget,” said Anies.
