ANGRY: report of rape against Ali B, John de Mol knew of 1 Rietbergen case in 2019

A former participant of The Voice of Holland has reported rape against coach Ali B. The declarant was portrayed anonymously in the online program BOOS, in which Tim Hofman presented the results of his research into sexually transgressive behavior and abuse of power in The Voice of Holland.

The victim told in a distorted voice that eight years ago, when she was 18, she was raped by Ali B. He had shown her around his studio, after which they sat on a bench and he suddenly started kissing her. She stiffened and did not resist when he had sex with her. “I felt that he was so powerful that I thought: what you want must happen now. So I let what he planned for me come over me.”

Ali B. had already been to her home unannounced, she continued. He then said he felt like fucking. She asked him to leave, which he did.

The woman has long thought that it was her own fault. After the rape, she asked Ali B if he “had done that to more girls”. According to her, he replied that he had done it before and that he was not afraid, because no one would believe it if someone testified against him. The victim also said that he had promised to help her progress with The Voice of Holland.

Another woman has also filed a complaint against Ali B, who denies all charges.

In BOOS It was also announced that John de Mol already knew in April 2019 about at least one case of sexually transgressive behavior by band leader Jeroen Rietbergen. BOOS spoke to nineteen women about Rietbergen’s sexually intimidating behavior, fifteen women had similar stories about a director of The Voice. Rietbergen’s misconduct played out according to BOOS over a period of more than ten years, from 2010 to 2021.

On Saturday, RTL decided to stop broadcasting the talent show after BOOS had sent an e-mail with allegations to Rietbergen.

He admitted the allegations were correct and resigned. His partner Linda de Mol broke up with him and has put her job down for the time being. Singer Anouk, one of the coaches, decided to stop completely at The Voice of Holland.
