While the 2022 edition of its Guide is currently being finalized, and in order to allow breeders to prepare / fine-tune / finalize their breeding plans for this season, the Anglo Course Federation wanted to preview below are the Anglo-Arab racing and thoroughbred crossbreed stallions available for breeding this year.
The Anglo Course Federation would like to thank the various stud farms and stallion owners who, year after year, play the game of promoting their stallions, Anglo-Arabs and/or thoroughbred crossbreeds, in the Anglo Course Guide, an indispensable ally of any self-respecting Anglo-Arab breeder, owner, trainer and enthusiast.
To start with Jean-Charles Escaléhost of Abbey Stud Farmwhere no less than 5 Anglo-Arab stallions will be stationed in 2022, including two beginners: Bosardoone of the best Anglo-Arabs of his generation in Italy and son of the breed leader Bombolino (which will be presented to you in more detail later, editor’s note), but also Chamakothe only Anglo-Arab stallion out of the great Martaline and belonging to one of the great strains of the Haras du Bosquet (that of Genmoss, Cherco, La Bidassoa). These last two will stand alongside Don Magnoa son of crack Benevolo de Paban and the fiery champion Marquis of Moratalla Marruti entering his second season at stud, just like Croucracqemerged victorious in the race for the Omnium, the Grand Criterium and the Test Pool at 37.5%, not to mention the “Frankel of the Anglo-Arabs“, Paban of Franceimmense champion with 10 victories, whose first foals have just taken 2 years since January 1st.

On the side of Ice studsat the house of Catherine de Lartiguefour Anglo-Arab stallions will be offered to breeders this year, with the leader Thrill of the Pecosa true champion on the track but also at stud, having again been crowned best sire of winners in 2021, as well as his breeding companion, Fairplay du Pécossire of winners both on the flat (Feng Shui du Pécos, Wonder ChopCroucracq) than over obstacles (Reddington, Eleos de la Brunie), and back in the South-West in 2022. They will have as box neighbors the young Game Entry and Shrektwo horses having won both on the flat and over obstacles, the first city having had its first foals (very appreciated by their respective breeders, note) in 2021, the year during which the second saw its first 3 years pass the post in the lead (Bambala, If Vergoignan).
Game Entry
After officiating for a time at Haras de Gelos, Olzarte of Collonguesthe father of good Spartacus of Clodia (Ministry of Agriculture price at 12.5%), Winter hour (2nd Anglo-Arab Grand Prix at ParisLongchamp) and other San Petrone Corso (Grand Steeple-Chase des Anglo-Arabes and 2x Prix Louis-Alexandre Sers in Pau) returned to Haras de Lassosat the house of Jerome Berges, where he has already stood in the past. Crowned best Anglo-Arab of the year 2016, Tidjali d’Orwhose first 3-year-olds should appear on the programs this year, has returned to his owner-breeder, Hubert Harivelin the English Channel, while Freeleaua stallion producing both for racing and for endurance, the CCE (Complete Equestrian Competition) and the CSO (Show Jumping Competition) will be available again at the Margnat’s studsat the house of Celine Boudaudin Correze.
Olzarte of Collongues
In addition to the Anglo-Arab “sires”, a few crossbred thoroughbreds are also featured in this Anglo Course 2022 Guide. Starting with the two stallions of Haras du Mazet from Mathieu Talleux : Devastatinghard as a rock from 2 to 7 years old in competition, which is moreover at high level, and Motamarrisson of the classic and top stallion “FR” Le Havre (now retired), with a model and a locomotion suggesting that he will be able to produce both on the flat and in jumps.
Motamarris
Established in the Gers, to the west of Toulouse, and whose history is intimately linked with Anglo-Arab horses, the Haras des Granges from Mathieu Daguzan-Garros three thoroughbred stallions are stationed this year, to which breeders can send one (or more!) Anglo-Arab mares if they wish. They will have the choice between Earnshawone of the few sons of the great Gold medal to ride in Europe, Johnny Barneswhose first 2-year-olds fired on all cylinders in 2021, both in France and on the other side of the Channel, and Taareefwhose first 2-year-olds are eagerly awaited at racetracks this year.
Taareef
Masterfully directed by Thierry Abadiein the Hautes-Pyrénées, the Haras des Fontaines will make available to Anglo-Arab breeders Erasmuscrowned best 2-year-old of his generation in Germany, but also the confirmed Slade Powersire in particular of the excellent Raffle Prize (Queen Mary St, Gr.2; Duchess Of Cambridge St. Gr.2; 2e Prix Morny Gr.1; 2e Cheveley Park St., Gr.1), sans oublier le sculptural Bricka real metronome on tracks from 2 to 9 years old.
Erasmus
For those wishing to bring their broodmares to George Vancouverwhose production is illustrated both on the flat and over jumps, and/or World Championfrom a large German stock (Areion on a mother Dashing Blade), you will have to go to Haras du Périgordat the house of Guillaume Soulieor at theVanx Breedingat the house of Pascal Geyerwhere is stationed Harrowby Streeta son of Nathaniel from the same maternal line as Manatee, and therefore very interesting to cross for the obstacle. Ladies and gentlemen, to your riding plans!
