Andrew’s lawyers urge U.S. civil lawsuit to be dismissed

Fall Epstein

New York / London (dpa) – In the legal dispute over allegations of abuse against Prince Andrew (61), the US lawyers of the Queen’s son asked the court to dismiss the civil suit of an American woman.

The allegations were unfounded and the Royal rejected them unequivocally, quoted the British media from documents that the lawyers submitted to the court in New York.

“Accusing a member of the world’s most prominent royal family of serious misconduct has helped (Virginia) Giuffre to create a media hype online and in the traditional press,” it said. “It is regrettable, but not to be denied, that greed for sensation and innuendos have triumphed over the truth.”

The American Virginia Giuffre has sued Andrew for damages. She accuses him of having sexually abused her several times 20 years ago as a 17-year-old. Giuffre claims to have been made a sex slave by the now deceased US multimillionaire Jeffrey Epstein and his ex-partner Ghislaine Maxwell together with dozens of other minors. Andrew has been criticized for years because of his previous friendship with Epstein and has therefore ended his royal duties.

A court hearing is scheduled for Wednesday (November 3rd) in New York. Recently, Judge Lewis Kaplan ordered that all statements must be completed by mid-July 2022.
