Andrei Rublev Advances to Second Round of Roland Garros Tennis Tournament

Russia’s Andrei Rublev qualified for the second round of the “Roland Garros” tennis tournament by defeating Serbian Laslo Djiri 6-1, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4.

Rublev had qualified for the quarter-finals of “Roland Garros” twice before, in 2020 and 2022.

On the other hand, the American John Isner was eliminated from the tournament, losing to the Portuguese Nuno Borges, 4-6, 7-5, 6-7, 6-4, 6-7.

For his part, Italian Matthew Arnaldi defeated Colombian Daniel Galan 2-6, 6-3, 6-0, 6-2.

Spain’s Roberto Karballes also qualified for the second round by defeating American Emilio Nava 7-6, 6-3, 6-2.

In the women’s competition, Egyptian Mayar Sherif qualified for the second round by defeating American Madison Bringley 6-3, 6-1.

Mayar will play in the second round against Russian Anastasia Potapova, who defeated American Taylor Townsend 6-1, 6-2.

Frenchwoman Alize Cornet was eliminated from the tournament in the first round, losing to Italian Camilla Georgi, 6-3, 4-6.

For her part, Chinese Kenwen Zheng qualified for the second round by defeating Slovenian Tamara Zidancic, 6-3, 6-1.
