Andra Manfelde’s Latest Book “Is Mom At Home?” Released by Dienas Book Publishing House

Publishing house “Dienas book” has released the latest book for children by writer Andra Manfelde “Is mom at home?”.

Andra Manfelde: “If the family – mom, dad, Annī and Aurelia – hadn’t moved into the red house on the first day of summer, maybe the events would have been completely different. But the house is damn mysterious. “Everything disappears in this house!” yelled dad. Not only socks, screws and notebooks… So the belongings and peace of mind are behind, the wind and the children are playing and if you, dear readers, could fast forward to the events, then you would see for yourself that in winter, mom runs around the rooms, most often with a broom, and claims that she she carried heat from stove to stove, from room to room. But the Japanese Investigator ordered to tell everything from the very beginning!”

Kristine Ulberga: “Andra Manfeld’s wild imaginations about what would happen at home if she disappeared no longer look like imaginations, but serious investigative matters. It will! It will be interesting.”

Poet and prose writer Andra Manfelde (1973) submitted 16 books to the evaluation of readers – children and adults – in two decades. Several of them have the author’s own illustrations. Many of Andras Manfelde’s books have received various awards or been nominated for the Latvian Literature of the Year Award. Among them is the latest work – “Poem with Mom”, published in 2022.

The 2018 Literary Year Award was won by the children’s short story “Kurš nóm us lidos?”.

The book was published with the support of the State Cultural Capital Fund and the Liepāja Culture Board.

Hard cover volume, 120 pages, published on December 18, 2023. We buy the book in various bookstores.
