Russian ambassador Eleonora Mitrofanova cleverly keeps her personal life a secret, but in reality it turns out that she has been happily married for many years, despite keeping her father’s surname. Her husband Vladimir Tirtishnikov can boast an even more impressive professional biography than hers. And at the moment he continues to be a respected professor at the Russian Peoples’ Friendship University in Moscow.

76-year-old Vladimir held senior positions in the state even before the collapse of the Soviet Union. From 1986 to 1991 he was head of the Ministry of Electronics Industry of the USSR. He later became president of a telecommunications company in the Russian Federation and held the position for 5 years before becoming a business development consultant in Russia for companies in the US and EU countries.

And then his career continued to develop in the business sector, managing all kinds of companies. Vladimir is a Doctor of Economics and Management and an academic from the International Academy of Management.

While together with his wife they have dizzying careers, they have nevertheless managed to create a large family. They have a total of four children, Mitrofanova herself shared some time ago in her speech on March 8. Their only son, Andrei Tirtishnikov, is a famous sculptor. In 2001, at the age of 21, he was awarded the gold medal of the Russian Academy of Arts for the exhibition of his grandfather’s sculpture, in military uniform.

Last year it became clear that the Bulgarian village of Parvenets entrusted him with the task of building a monument to General Nikolay Velyaminov, led the liberation battle at the then Dermendere. The project for the construction of the monument is carried out with the support of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Bulgaria, and the choice of the sculptor is obviously not accidental, given that Andrey’s mother is Eleonora Mitrofanova. On 24 May last year he presented a bronze bust of Dostoevsky, also by his son, at the Sofia National Library.

His other successor, Feodor, is an advertising and public relations specialist. There is no information on the remaining children of the Russian ambassador, but according to her she is a happy grandmother of 8 grandchildren.

Next year, Mitrofanova will celebrate its 70th anniversary. She was born on 11 June 1953 in Volgograd and her father, Valentin Mitrofanov, was a former high-ranking employee of the Soviet Union’s Gosplan. In 1975, she Eleonora graduated from the Faculty of International Economic Relations at the Moscow State Institute. She then defended her thesis and received the degree of “candidate in economics”, she writes “Retro”. Her diplomatic career began in 2001. She also has a brother-Alexei Mitrofanov, who is an influential politician in Russia, member of the State Duma from 1993-2016.
