Anastasia Daousis, veterinarian and executive of SYRIZA – Progressive Alliance from Lesvos, has died.

Anastasia Daoussi was a member of the Central Committee of SYRIZA – PS, deputy coordinator of the Agricultural Policy department and an active member of the official opposition party in Lesbos, being the coordinator of the prefectural committee.

In a statement issued by the press office of SYRIZA – PS, underlined that the official opposition party “says goodbye with immense sadness and great emotion, dear comrade Anastasia (Tassia) Daousis. Until the last moment, her presence in SYRIZA – PS was tireless, dynamic and creative. Saying goodbye to her, we owe her a big thank you, expressing our deepest condolences to her family. Have a nice trip our dear Tasia. We will always remember you with love and respect.”

The Prefectural Committee of Lesvos of SYRIZA P.S. also issued an announcement.

SYRIZA-PS Lesvos bids farewell with deep sorrow to the Coordinator of the Prefectural Committee, member of the Central Committee and Deputy Coordinator of the Party’s Department of Agricultural Policy, Comrade Anastasia Daousis, who left today, at just 58 years old, after a long, brave battle for her life.

We say goodbye to the tireless fighter Anastasia, who from her student years in Haidari joined the collective struggle of the Left (among the ranks of the KNE at the time) for a different society. And that in 2019 he officially allied himself with SYRIZA, the Party he honored with its action in particularly difficult times. Our Party recognized locally and centrally her valuable contribution to our common cause, initially elevating her to Deputy Coordinator of N.E. Lesvos and later a member of the Central Committee and Deputy Coordinator of the Department of Agricultural Policy.

We say goodbye to the tireless scientist, veterinarian Anastasia, whose work was highly respected and recognized by the agricultural and livestock world of Lesvos.

We say goodbye to our Anastasia, our precious companion with a big heart, endless sense of humor and an open house for everyone. Anastasia, who was happy to have you as a friend and to accompany her in the fight for social justice.

Her absence is a huge and irreparable blow for us and for our island. We will always remember her with great gratitude for what she offered to the Left, SYRIZA – PS and the place she loved.

The “goodbye” of Svigo, Voulgaraki, Bournos

The secretary of the Central Committee of SYRIZA – PS Rania Svigou said in a post on X that “a rare person, a fighter, is no longer among us. Our comrade Anastasia Daoussi, member of the Central Committee of SYRIZA-PS and coordinator of the Department of Agricultural Policy left her mark on the local society of Lesvos and on our Party. We say goodbye to her with sadness.”

For his part, the coordinator of the organizational office of SYRIZA – PS Yiannis Voulgarakis emphasized that “with deep sorrow I say goodbye to you comrade Anastasia Daousis. From whatever role you were asked, you offered your services immeasurably to the party and society. Lesvos, North Aegean, the agricultural policy department of SYRIZA PS and all the members of the KE thank you for everything you did. Condolences to the husband and children.”

The former SYRIZA Member of Parliament, member of the party’s Central Committee, Yiannis Bournous, in a message, also said goodbye to the Coordinator of NE SYRIZA, Anastasia Daousis, with touching words.
