An outstanding oboeist Alexei Ogrinchuk’s master class will take place online

According to the organizers, one of the most outstanding oboists of his generation Alexei Ogrinchuk was born in Moscow and studied at the Gnesin Academy of Music in Moscow, as well as at the Paris Conservatory. His teachers include Maurice Bourgue, Jacques Tys and Jean-Louis Capezzali. Ogrinchuk has won many prestigious competitions, including the 19-year-old Concours International d’Exécution Musicale (CIEM) in Geneva, two Victoires de la Musique in France in 2002, the Triumph Prize in Russia in 2005 and Borletti-Buitoni Trust Award for supporting young musicians in 2007. The musician has also participated in the prestigious “Rising Stars” and “BBC New Generation Artists” programs.

Since 2005, Ogrinchuk has been the first oboe of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. Before joining the Amsterdam Orchestra, Ogrinchuk also took his first oboe position in the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, gaining this position at the age of 20. Ogrinčuka has excellent moments of cooperation with Latvian musicians – he has performed with Marisa Jansons, Andris Nelsons and the chamber orchestra “Sinfonietta Rīga”. Violinist Gidon Kremer is also among the chamber musician’s partners.

Paul Kristaps Reinis will also take part in the master class, playing F. Schubert’s Ninth Symphony in Do Major, D.944: Beginning of Part 2 for Oboe Solo, P. Tchaikovsky’s Fourth Symphony in Fa Minor, Op.36: Beginning of Part 2 for Oboe Solo, J. Brahms The First Symphony do minor, op.68: Part 2 Andante sostenuto and M. Ravel’s Suite “Tomb of the Couperena”: Part 3 Menuets, as well as Kira Maija Kirsanova (concertmaster E. Bērtiņa), performing orchestral difficulties for compositions M. Mussorgsky – ” Exhibition Paintings “: Part 3” Tilier ‘s Garden “, J. Rossini – Overture for the opera “Silk Stairs” and solo repertoire composition – B. Krusel’s Divertimento for Oboe and String Quartet in Do Major Op. 9.

“Rīga Jūrmala” online master classes have already taken place this season together with the leading musicians of the Royal “Concertgebouw” orchestra Omar Tomasoni (trumpet), Dominiku Seldis (double bass), Gregor Horsch (cello) and Emilija Beinoni (flute), Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra cello), French violinist Reno Capison and German baritone Benjamin Aplus, as well as master classes with British mezzo – soprano Alice Kuta and the outstanding tenor Joseph Calley.
