The iOS passcode 14 suggests that Apple will release a 5.4-inch iPhone.
According to the rumor, Apple would prepare 4 versions of iPhone for this year. A rumor that has been running for several months and which indicates that the entry-level model, the iPhone 12, would only measure 5.4 inches. A format to which Apple has not really accustomed us, but which nevertheless seems to be confirmed.
Indeed, the publication of the third beta of iOS 14 (all the news here) allowed the team to MacRumors to spot signs that one of the next headed smartphones would be 5.4 inches. A new format for the brand which has accustomed us to 5.5 inch models.
Diving into the beta of iOS 14, MacRumors investigators spotted a reference to a new format thanks to the Display Zoom function. This is a feature that allows you to adapt the display of the screen to its size and enlarge the text on it. By playing with the Display Zoom function from the emulator dedicated to developers, they were able to realize that the display stuck perfectly to a definition of 960 x 2079 pixels, which would coincide with the 5.4-inch format.
For comparison, the iPhone 11 has a 6.1-inch display. If Apple is indeed preparing a 5.4 ” model, the American firm could go against the trend of ever larger smartphones, surprise its aficionados and seduce followers of small smartphones.
With 4 versions of iPhone, it is true that Apple can afford to play on the differences. The iPhone 12, the entry-level model and therefore more accessible, could well be an adaptation of the iPhone SE, in the end.
