ORAn earthquake of magnitude 4.6 was recorded this Friday in the state of California, United States, with no reports of casualties or material damage.
The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported that the quake was recorded at 7:03 pm local time (3:03 GMT on Saturday), followed by two aftershocks of magnitudes 2.2 and 2.9.
The epicenter of the quake was located near the city of Barstow, California, at a depth of only 3.8 kilometers, but it was felt even in the city of Las Vegas, in the state of Nevada, the Los Angeles Times reported.
An average of 25 earthquakes with magnitudes between 4.0 and 5.0 occur per year in California and Nevada, according to a recent sample of three-year data.
California state authorities did not report victims or property damage.
