An alternative summer vacation day in the desert – From underwater escalators to a cinema in the pool | vivanty – entertainment & lifestyle

(kms) – Summer in Scottsdale means high temperatures, up to 43 degrees Celsius is not uncommon here. But don’t let that intimidate you: Scottsdale offers a variety of activities that are also suitable for these hot days – cooling is of course guaranteed. Experience Scottsdale shows what a fun day in the city in the middle of the Sonoran Desert can look like.

Shopping for breakfast

Shopping is also very good in Scottsdale. If you want to let your credit card glow in the morning but are afraid of the hot temperatures outside, don’t worry: In Scottsdale’s largest mall, the Scottsdale Fashion Square, you can shop comfortably in the air-conditioned air. Whether fashion, jewelry, accessories or a refreshment, everyone can find what they need in over 250 shops. Of course, there are also various ways to enjoy a delicious breakfast here.

Cactus for refreshment

A Scottsdale-style refreshment can be found in the Ruze Cake House. The most popular drink from the popular Scottsdale bakery is the so-called “Ruze”. It consists of cold brewed tea made from the prickly pear cactus, homemade rose syrup, milk, pureed prickly pear cactus and pearls made from tapioca starch. As a grand finale, the delicious pink drink is also given a cap made of handmade cotton candy. As well as being a welcome, sweet refreshment in the sun, this drink is also extremely photogenic.

Get to know Scottsdale’s underwater world

The largest aquarium in the American Southwest is in Scottsdale. The OdySea Aquarium is not only pleasantly air-conditioned, but also takes visitors into the depths of the world’s oceans. Whether crocodiles, turtles, penguins or sharks – here, sea fans can see them all at once. One of the highlights of the excellent aquarium is the Underwater escalator. This fully enclosed escalator draws its guests deeper and deeper into an underwater world in which they are completely surrounded by thousands of mysterious sea creatures. Giant rays that fly over you and glide like kites in the wind, or the white tip reef sharks that emerge from the shadows – an undoubtedly unique experience. The dedicated employees of the OdySea Aquarium also take care of injured sea creatures. A few months ago, for example, they taught a baby penguin, Rosie, to walk.

Cinema or pool? Both!

The agony of choice: going to the cinema or cooling off in the pool? In Scottsdale you can combine the two. The Phoenician Scottsdale offers, for example, an outdoor cinema in the pool. So while you relax in your swim ring in the pleasantly cold pool, you are entertained on the screen with terrific films.

Try popular restaurants of the locals

There is no way around Scottsdale’s culinary scene, you shouldn’t. The locals really appreciate their multi-faceted restaurants and are passionate about eating out. One of the most popular restaurants in Scottsdale’s Old Town is this FnB. The multi-award-winning chef Charleen Badman offers guests wonderful vegetarian dishes or regional meat and selected fish as well as handmade pasta and decadent desserts.
