This first British Airways code-share in Africa will allow customers of this company to have a multitude of choice of services between London Airport, Heathrow, and Marrakech. According to RAM, “this device will also offer daily access to its hub in Casablanca, which is currently not served directly by British Airways.”
Casablanca will also serve as an ideal hub for connections to African destinations of Royal Air Maroc, namely Abidjan in Ivory Coast, Freetown in Sierra Leone, or Agadir in Morocco. As for Royal Air Maroc customers, they will have access to the dense network of British Airways in England and Great Britain.
Chris Fordyce, head of alliances at Bristish Airways, is confident that this agreement “will not only provide customers with a greater choice of flights to Africa’s largest tourist destination, Morocco, but will also connect the the London company’s vast global network to new destinations in Africa ”.
As for Hamid Addou, the CEO of RAM, he said that “passengers, through this agreement, will be entitled to a better connection to additional destinations across Britain, as well as a better customer journey , thanks to optimized connections and end-to-end recording operations ”.
Among other advantages, RAM and British Airways customers will also be able to benefit from the services granted under the loyalty system, such as reward flights, over-classifications, hotels, car rental, reduction in the cost of a flight and will also have access to the VIP lounges of both companies when traveling in business class or when they have adequate loyalty cards.
