Traffic at km 6 on the Trakia highway is temporarily restricted in both directions due to a traffic accident, the Road Infrastructure Agency announced.
No details have been reported so far about the victims or the circumstances of the accident and how many cars collided. Footage from Nova TV showing the scene from a height shows thick black smoke, stopped cars and people on the road. According to a TV reporter, the incident took place between two trucks, one of which caught fire. The signal was given around 8 o’clock.
A bypass route has been introduced for all motor vehicles through Vakarel and Novi Han to Sofia and back along the same route. Drivers need to drive with caution and appropriate speed.
