PUEBLA, Pue. (apro) .- An 82-year-old woman allegedly suffered a heart attack this morning when she was in line to receive the covid-19 vaccine in Ciudad Universitaria and died minutes later when she was treated at the ISSSTE hospital in this city.
According to reports, the woman named Esperanza vanished when she was in the vicinity of the CU, where INSABI personnel administer the vaccines.
Paramedics arrived at the scene who gave Esperanza first aid, and then transferred her to the ISSSTE hospital located in the San Manuel neighborhood, where minutes later, the doctors confirmed that she had died.
Since this Monday, the mass vaccination began in the southern area of Puebla capital, in which long lines and disorganization have prevailed.
Although the delegation of the Ministry of Welfare presented a protocol for registrations and appointments over the weekend, hundreds of people began training early on Monday and many of them did not have an appointment or came hours before the time assigned to them. .
Health personnel vaccinated the same people with appointments as without them, which led to the lines getting longer, as well as the waiting times of up to five hours to receive the inoculation.
On Monday, a reporter asked Governor Miguel Barbosa Huerta about what call he made to people who from an early hour began to queue to seek to be vaccinated without an appointment, to which the president replied that everyone who went to the CU will surely be vaccinated. .
I am sure that everyone who goes to Ciudad Universitaria is going to be vaccinated, I am sure that the strategy to attend to everyone will be implemented at this time, surely the way they can receive the vaccine is being seen, he said.
Throughout Monday, crowds were registered at the three access points to the CU that were enabled, so the appointment system that was implemented at first was exceeded.
The Secretary of Health, Antonio Martnez, reported that yesterday more than 442 thousand vaccines arrived in Puebla that will allow the campaign against covid-19 to be expanded throughout the state.
