AMLO urged to research supply of medicine for cancer patients

The State Congress urged President Andrés Manuel López Obrador to order research in public sector hospitals on missing drugs to ensure proper care and continuity of treatment for people with cancer, particularly for girls and boys who receive chemotherapies.

The proposal is from the deputy Gustavo Macías Zambrano, president of the PAN Caucus, so that through the head of the federal Health Secretariat, the state Health Secretaries, the IMSS and the ISSSTE, they carry out the investigation in public hospitals.

In this exhortation, the head of the Federal Executive also requests him to guarantee the adequate supply without interruption of medication to provide care to all minors suffering from cancer, with the highest standards of quality and warmth.

It is included in the agreement that the Federal Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risks, “so that it urgently implements the corresponding procedures in order to streamline the marketing and distribution of the medicines necessary to care for girls and boys with cancer; the aforementioned without prejudice to its powers of sanitary supervision and control ”.

Also that the holders of the federal Ministry of Health, the state Secretaries of Health, the IMSS and the ISSSTE, guarantee the supply of oncological drugs through the signing of an agreement with the parents of children with cancer, derived of the meeting they held on June 12, and in it they commit to retake the dialogue tables to establish effective commitments with the aim of ensuring that the supply of medicines is at the national level.

Likewise, that the head of the Official Office of the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit, in order to streamline the process of purchasing medicines for oncological treatments and, thus, guarantee supply in the country and reach patients who do so. require, particularly for girls and boys suffering from cancer.
