“Thank you Heroes”: The initiative that gives vacations to health professionals

To assess the work carried out by health professionals during the combat of the Covid-19 pandemic, businessman Hernán Herrera launched the initiative “Thanks Heroes“, consisting of give away 500 holidays these workers.

The program launched last week and to participate officials only had to fill out a form with their data on the site Graciasheroes.cl.

More than 1,600 people To date, from different medical specialties that work in both public centers and clinics.

The 500 lucky ones will be able to enjoy a stay of seven days and six nights for two adults and two children with breakfast included in the hotel Howard Johnson Olmué Club and they will have two years to exchange their vacations, between January 2021 and January 2023.

Health professionals have made a tremendous sacrifice in these four months and when this crisis is over they are going to need a well-deserved rest. We are happy to be able to repay your effort with this award “assured Hernán Herrera, hotel entrepreneur and promoter of “Gracias Héroes”.

The executive added that “a very relevant point to highlight is that This program does not have small print. Professionals will be able to make use of this right when they deem it convenient, regardless of whether it is high or low season. The only restriction is that it will be subject to hotel availability. “

They ask more companies to join the campaign

Since the quotas have already been filled, Herrera’s idea is to call other hotels to favor about five thousand officials: “We know that our 500 seats will not be enough to reward everyone on the front line.”

“For that very reason, we want to invite other tourist companies, such as hotels, restaurants and summer centers, to join this initiative so that we can carry it out throughout Chile, “he said.

Companies interested in being part of the program can contact the employer by email [email protected].

“Those of us in a position to help should do so, not only because it is morally correct, but because when you give, you always receive,” he said.

The initiative has crossed the borders of Chile and has generated interest from hotel firms in Argentina and Brazil to be replicated in these countries. In this sense, Herrera is in talks with companies in the sector so that the beneficiaries can access hotels abroad.
