Lozoya Austin arrived in Mexico at 00:50 last Friday from Spain, where he was detained last February. The former government official of Enrique Peña Nieto agreed to be extradited to face the accusations for the crimes of money laundering, bribery and criminal association.

The former official is guarded by elements of the National Guard.
Consulted by Political expansion, the law specialist and co-founder of the Tojil organization, Estefanía Medina, considered that, with her admission to the hospital, Lozoya Austin is gaining time to adhere to the figure of opportunity criteria, which could even give her the possibility of running out of positions and without sentence.
According to the newspaper The DayEmilio Lozoya Thalmann, father of the former director of Pemex, was in charge of negotiating with the Attorney General of the Republic the extradition of his son and offered information to the Federal Public Ministry in exchange for benefits being granted to his son.
