With the onset of autumn, the singer Aminata has released a textually painful song “Eyes Salt”. However, its energetic performance and mood do not allow it to get really sad.
Aminata originally planned to perform the song “Salt Eyes” herself: “It was not meant for me. A couple of years ago I went to the UK to work with producer and songwriter Pete Barringer. Together, we wrote four songs in English that we planned to give back to other artists for performance. “Salted Eyes” was also one of them and written in English, called “Lit The Fire”, “says Aminata. Already at the time of writing the English version of the song, she realized that this is more special than the other three songs, but the agreement remains – it was written to another artist… “For more than a year this song stood in the far corner of the computer and I had already forgotten about it. . One day I accidentally found it, listened and understood – this song perfectly describes my current feelings and resonates with my inner strings. ”
This was followed by permission from Barringer as to whether Aminata could convert the song into Latvian and perform it herself. As the singer wanted the Latvian version to have special words, Jānis Šipkēvics, a member of the group “Instruments”, addressed her. “I wanted the words to be special, true and accurate. No one else in Latvia writes lyrics the way Jānis Šipkēvics does. I addressed Jānis and he wrote wonderful words that touched the depths of my heart, which so accurately reflect my feelings that every time I sing them, my body takes over. The feeling that Jānis has looked into my soul and fully understood it! ” excited Aminata. She emphasizes that the song “Salted Eyes” means a lot to her, because this is one of the songs through which she manages to rework a negative experience and instead of keeping pain and resentment in herself, the song allows you to release it all, forgive and breathe. freely.
