Amazon launched the Dutch store on Tuesday. Amazon.nl previously only sold books. Dutch consumers could go to the translated German store for other products.
From Tuesday, customers can visit Amazon.nl for products in more than thirty categories such as computers, electronics, music, sports and living.
Thousands of Dutch companies sell through the platform. In total millions of products are for sale via the Dutch platform and Amazon wants to expand this further.
“Today is just the start of Amazon.nl,” said Roeland Donker, country manager at the company. “We work hard every day to expand our range.”
Earlier it became clear that Amazon would come to the Netherlands with a full platform. At the beginning of this year, companies that wanted to market their products through Amazon.nl were able to register with the web giant.
