Dallas (AP) – According to media reports, the Dallas Cowboys have created a novelty with a new contract for DeMarcus Lawrence. The 29-year-old’s three-year, $30 million contract is fully guaranteed, sources said.
DeMarcus Lawrence would become the first player in the National Football League at the back of the defensive line with a seven-season full salary guarantee. His previous four-year contract had also been concluded on this condition.
Unlike all other leagues in US esports, player salaries are usually not 100 percent guaranteed. This is due to the size of the squad of 53 players, the rule that the salary cannot be exceeded and the high risk of injury.
Lawrence was drafted in the second round in 2014 and has been a key part of the Cowboys’ defense ever since. Since then he has had 48.5 quarterback sacks, 17 forced fumbles and 74 tackles for loss.
