Earlier, operations in Russia were suspended by Visa and Mastercard. In a statement released on Saturday, March 5 by Mastercard, we read that the company is not indifferent to the war in Ukraine.
Cards issued by Russian banks will no longer be supported by the Mastercard network outside of Russia. And any Mastercard issued outside the country will not work at Russian sellers or at ATMs

Visa has announced similar consequences for Russian citizens. The company’s statement reads:
All transactions initiated with Visa cards issued in Russia will cease to work outside this country, and Visa cards issued by financial institutions outside Russia will no longer work in the Russian Federation.
Visa and Mastercard statements prompted the Russian central bank to take a stance on payments in Russia. Bank informed that cards issued by Russian banks will continue to operate in the country until their expiry date.
