América, ‘with the table served’ to extend its paternity over Pumas in Liguilla

América enjoys a wide dominance over Pumas in Liguilla, with just one defeat at home after six elimination series

América and Pumas have met six times in a Liguilla and the balance favors the Eagles, with eight wins, two draws, two losses and a scoring record of 20 goals against ten allowed.

The only triumph for Pumas in the direct elimination round on the Azteca Stadium was in the semifinals of the Apertura 2015, a tournament in which they reached the final in a dramatic way and fell before Tigers in the fight for the crown.

The last time the Auriazules visited the Azteca Stadium field in a Liguilla, they were beaten 6 to 1 in the semifinals of the Apertura 2018 and, in the end, America was crowned for the thirteenth time, after beating Cruz Azul in the final.

In one of six series, Eagles and felines tied with one goal on the global scoreboard, however, the pass to the semifinals was for the azulcrema, as they finished as leaders of the 2014 Apertura.
