Amazon’s Latest Robotics and AI Solutions for Warehouse Efficiency and Delivery Speed

On October 18, the “Delivering the Future” event organized by “Amazon” took place, where the e-commerce giant informed about the latest robotics and artificial intelligence solutions that are integrated in warehouses and used in order delivery. You can see that the company is actively continuing its efforts to speed up work in warehouses, where a total of 750,000 robot systems have already been integrated.

One of the novelties that the company came up with is the “Sequoia” robotics system, which improves delivery speed, employee safety and speeds up basic operations. “Amazon” predicts that with its help, activities related to finding and storing goods could be accelerated by 75%, as well as speed up the delivery of orders by up to 25%.

“Sequoia” includes vehicles that deliver goods to the sorting facility. The system uses robotic arms and computer vision to pick up containers from higher shelves and identify the items inside before handing them to workers in the shipping department. This also increases the safety of workers, who no longer have to reach up to reach heavy objects, risking injury. It’s also important to note that Sequoia is designed to work alongside warehouse workers, not replace them. The new system has been in use at Amazon’s Houston warehouse since earlier this week.

In addition, Amazon announced that it will begin testing Agility Robotics’ Digit humanoid robot in its warehouses to see if it is suitable for working in such an environment. In general, Amazon is very actively making the transition to robotization and already uses around 750,000 different robot systems in its warehouses.
