Alpine F1 transfers Pierre Guthrie “I didn’t want to leave Red Bull to escape”[F1-Gate.com]

Pierre Gasly will switch to the Alpine F1 team in 2023. It means for the first time in F1 outside of Red Bull. Will he be completely separated from Red Bull? can they be recalled? he said in an interview with RacingNews365.com.

Pierre Gasly has only raced in F1 for two teams, Red Bull Racing and Scuderia AlphaTauri (formerly Toro Rosso), but he has been a familiar face on the F1 grid for several years.

However, in 2023 Pierre Guthrie left the Red Bull family and moved to the Alpine F1 team to replace Fernando Alonso. Join the third team of your F1 career.

In an interview with RacingNews365.com, Pierre Gasly confirmed that his relationship with Red Bull is over and that he will not be able to be recalled in the future.

His brief tenure at Red Bull Racing saw him consistently out of the top five in qualifying performances and a lackluster result with a fourth place finish at the 2019 F1 British Grand Prix.

Pierre Guthrie, who returned to Toro Rosso (now AlphaTauri), took 2nd podium at the F1 Brazilian GP in 2019 and secured his first victory in the F1 Italian GP in 2020.

Are you considering a possible return to Red Bull in the future?

“At the moment I don’t know what will happen, but for now 100% of my head is alpine,” said Gasly.

Indeed, Pierre Gasly desperately wanted to leave Red Bull. And to make sure he left the team in good standing, he said he made sure all parties were aware of his intentions before proceeding with the transfer.

“Everyone knew that. It was clear between me, Alpine and Red Bull. We had to find an agreement between all parties,” said Gasly.

“But it was clear it wasn’t an easy deal, because obviously Helmut (Marko), Franz (Tost) and others wouldn’t let me go unconditionally.”

“They needed a fast and competitive driver to replace me and give AlphaTauri what it needed.”

This came in the form of Formula E champion Nick de Vries, who impressed with his F1 debut at Monza this year.

Pierre Gasly says it was important to find a rider up to his abilities, given how much Red Bull has supported him over the years.

“It was important for me not to leave AlphaTauri and Red Bull as to escape from the program.

“I appreciate what they have given me in my career. That’s why it was important to find what people needed.”
