1- Establishment of a family assistance fund and insurance policy to financially support him in dealing with the expenses and challenges associated with personal status issues.

2- The State undertakes to provide the sources of funding for the Fund and to fully support it.

3- The drafting of the new law must be simplified and detailed so as to make it easier for all groups of people to understand and assimilate its provisions, especially those who are not involved in legal matters.

4- The law aims to formulate an integrated and detailed personal statute.

Details of the characteristics of the bill

1- President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi ordered last June to prepare an integrated and detailed draft law on personal status

2- On June 5, the Minister of Justice formed a committee to prepare the law, composed of 10 judges, including two female judges

3- A deadline of 4 months was given to complete the draft of the project, from June 5th to October 5th

4- The committee received about 4,733 proposals from people interested in personal status. Each proposal was classified according to the chapters of the law, such as marriage, divorce and alimony. The committee also read more than 20,000 proposals.

5- The Minister of Justice has decided to extend this term until the commission’s work is completed

6- The committee held 20 discussion sessions

7- The committee completed a first draft of 188 articles

8- The commission will finish preparing the bill within two months

9- Propose the draft law for community dialogue, then presenting it to the Council of Ministers and referring it to the House of Representatives

10- With the enactment of the law, 6 laws relating to personal status are repealed

18- Preservation of the financial inheritance of each spouse and of the share of each of them in the common property that was formed during the marriage

19- Rephrase marriage and divorce documents to ensure they include what the two parties have agreed upon in the event of a marriage and divorce

20- Document the divorce, as occurs in documenting the marriage, and not place any obligation on the wife until the date on which she became aware of it.
