GWINNETT COUNTY, Georgia. This Friday, Gwinnett County authorities issued the executive order to stay home, this as a precautionary measure to contain the spread of the coronavirus.

The order includes the closure of all non-essential establishments starting this Friday night and will be valid until April 13.

“Residents of Gwinnett County are ordered to not only gather in their homes, but to stay in them until 11:59 pm on April 13 due to the outbreak of the coronavirus disease known as COVID-19.” , says the document issued by the authorities.

All non-essential trips are also suspended.

Residents can leave their homes for activities that are essential to their own health and safety and that of family members.

Essential activities include, but are not limited to, obtaining food, medicine and medical supplies, home supplies and health care services, or caring for a family member or pet in another home.

It is also permissible to participate in outdoor activities, such as walking, walking, running, or cycling, as long as people meet the social distancing requirements.

Restaurants may continue to sell takeaways.

Charlotte Nash, Chair of the Gwinnett County Commission said, “The District Commissioners and I would like to express our deep appreciation to all of our residents and businesses for making temporary sacrifices for the good of our communities as our hospitals, health workers and first responders prepare for a rapidly growing workload. “

The only companies that will be able to remain open include healthcare facilities, supermarkets, farmers markets, food banks, convenience stores, gas stations, banks and related financial institutions, hardware stores, newspapers, television and radio stations, repair shops of automobiles, auto supply stores, food-growing businesses such as farms, and businesses that provide social services.
