“Vazrazhdane” demands an urgent convening of the CSNS – Bulgaria

“The Prime Minister is using the structures of state power for his personal political gain. Tomorrow we will prepare a report to the prosecutor’s office, with which we will demand that Kiril Petkov be immediately investigated.”

This was stated by the leader of “Vazrazhdane” Kostadin Kostadinov on the sidelines of the parliament after the Chairman’s Council.

Before the council, the leader of “Vazrazhdane” announced that he wants an urgent convening of the National Council of the National Assembly of the Russian Federation tomorrow due to Russia’s decision to close its embassy in Bulgaria in connection with the expulsion of 70 Russian diplomats and embassy employees.

“We are in an unprecedented crisis of relations between Russia and Bulgaria, caused by the resigned Prime Minister Kiril Petkov. Whether these actions are the result of sovereign decisions or the result of instructions from the American embassy, we cannot say,” Kostadinov said.

He recalled that the last time our country was in such a situation was in 1949, when the then communist government severed relations with the USA due to a spy scandal under the pressure of the USSR.

Kostadinov stressed that the consequences for Bulgaria will be “terrible”. He announced that the retired Prime Minister Petkov and the retired Foreign Minister Teodora Genchovska will be in charge of the Chairman’s Council in the Parliament.

Kostadinov: Kiril Petkov should immediately leave the country!

“They should say what they plan to do from now on,” Kostadinov said, adding:

“We think that Prime Minister Petkov is dangerous for the country. We think that the heads of the security services and the Minister of Internal Affairs, Boyko Rashkov, should also be summoned. With his actions and with his one-man decision, Petkov is putting Bulgaria in an unprovoked, brutal foreign policy crisis”.
