Alicante, epicenter of rowing with the dispute of the VII SUMA League Regatta

ALICANTE. The SUMA Banco Fijo del Mediterráneo League organized by the Rowing Federation of the Valencian Community with the support of SUMA Tax Management has a double date this weekend in Alicante. The capital of the Costa Blanca hosts the VII Regatta of one of the best regional rowing competitions on the national scene. The Real Club Regattas of Alicante is the organizer, in collaboration with the Federation, of an event that will take place Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 in the port area of ​​the Alicante town. Between the two days, the departure of about 80 boats and more than 700 athletes is scheduled to be the protagonists of one of the best sports events of the weekend in the Community.

These regattas correspond to the modality of Falucho Llaüt Valencià and feature a knockout format. The teams compete in a first round of qualifying and the result of these will determine the participation in the finals. The public will be able to contemplate the effort and the high level of competitiveness from various points set up inside the Port of Alicante.

Saturday’s test starts at ten in the morning with the departure of eleven cadet teams, and a representative of the SCM category, made up of people who have overcome Breast Cancer. All will travel 700 meters and will have to overcome a turn, a route similar to the one that will be carried out by the team of the mixed cadet modality and the three that will start in the mixed gender group. The day will also feature the youth heats, in which nine boats compete, completing 1,400 meters and three turns around the buoy. The finals are scheduled to start at 12:30 p.m., when the winners of a test that is key in the final classification of the competition will be decided.

Sunday’s regatta is more early in the morning and begins at nine in the morning with the starting gun for the 26 veteran boats, whose distance covered will be 700 meters. The absolute teams also compete, a total of 27, who will row 1,400 meters to complete the circuit. As in the first day, the qualifying heats will give way to the finals.

The seventeen participating clubs on the VI Regatta of the SUMA Fixed Bank of the Mediterranean League are Sports Section University of Alicante, Yacht Club Alicante Costa Blanca, Club Náutico Santa Pola, Club Náutico Benidorm, Club Náutico Altea, Real Club Náutico de Valencia, Club Rem Denia, Real Club Náutico Denia, Club Rem Cía Gandía, Real Club Náutico Gandía, Real Club Náutico Calpe, Real Club Regatas Alicante, Real Club Náutico Torrevieja, Club Remo Torrevieja, Club Deportivo de Mar Clot de L’Illot El Campello, Club Náutico Santa Lucía and Cartago Boga-Santa Lucía Rowing Club.
