Sounds like a horror movie story, but it’s not.
Alexa’s home assistant has challenged a 10-year-old girl to touch a coin to the metal pins of a charger half-plugged into an electrical outlet.
Amazon has already commented that it “fixed the mistake” as soon as they found out about the case.
The story was told by the girl’s mother – Christy Livdal, on Twitter. Due to the bad weather outside, a mother and daughter performed physical challenges that they saw from a physical education teacher on YouTube.
When the 10-year-old girl asked Alexa about a new challenge, spokesman Echo suggested one he “found on the Internet” – the so-called one penny challenge.
It started circulating on TikTok and other social networks about a year ago and is extremely dangerous. Firefighters in the United States and Britain have warned of the risks of such actions – both health and fire.

“No, Alexa, no!” The mother shouted in her own words. She commented that her daughter is still smart enough not to do such a thing.
Amazon told the BBC that they had updated the home assistant so that he would not recommend such an activity.
