Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Acute hepatitis has become a new concern, especially among parents because this disease mostly affects children. Indonesia itself has recorded 6 cases of death suspected to be caused by acute hepatitis.
Experts around the world are still researching the origins of the disease. It is possible that this mysterious disease can be transmitted through the air.
“It is suspected that it spreads through breathing,” said the Director of the Sulianti Saroso Hospital for Infectious Diseases (RSPI) Mohammad Syahril, some time ago.
Three stages of symptoms to watch out for
Acute hepatitis is not a type of disease that suddenly appears and is immediately severe. There are three stages of symptoms that children will experience until this disease really goes to a severe stage.
The initial stage is when the child experiences abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. Then the next symptom is when the child begins to experience jaundice which usually starts from the yellowing of the eyes to the whole body. And the last is a severe advanced stage, usually at this stage the child’s condition has really worsened.
“At this stage the color of the urine is like tea and white mucus is found in the feces. At this stage the symptoms have really worsened,” said Syahril.
