General Helder Fernán Giraldo, commander of the Military Forces, yesterday sent a letter addressed to generals and admirals of the Army, Navy and Aerospace Force a few days before the bilateral ceasefire comes into force, which would begin this October 8 with the dissidents of ‘Iván Mordisco’.
In it he warned his men to be alert to any action by this illegal armed group in the coming days.
“We face a new challenge, after the pronouncements of the so-called Central General Staff of the FARC and its announced intention to intensify its actions against our public force, the civilian population and the constant attacks by criminal groups that threaten peace and security. of our compatriots,” says General Giraldo’s letter.
He told the senior commanders that, to resolve these threats, they must reinforce the instructions and fully follow the orders issued to increase the protection of the civilian population, the security of their personnel, facilities, as well as the critical infrastructure found in the framework of the actions of the Ayacucho Plan that attacks these illegal armed groups.
