This week, the TV3 cooking show “Almost Ideal Dinner” brought together a particularly colorful company – Saeima deputy Aldis Gobzems, singer Ieva Sutugova, businessman and co-owner of the restaurant “Hercogs” Andris Rūmītis and model and TV personality Māra Sleja are visiting each other.
On the second night of the dinner show, the cooking and hospitality skills were demonstrated by the world-renowned model Māra Sleja, and she had decided not to welcome guests to her home.
“I don’t let strangers in here, because I’m” put on “by strangers. Now I feel safe with you, but if Aldis and the others were here, I would not be able to, ”Māra explained the decision to take her guests on a hike through the forest and take dinner with them.

After getting acquainted with the simple dinner menu, in which several dishes were not listed at all, Ieva was the only one who said that “looks delicious”. Andris, who has the most cooking experience in the company this week, said that this dinner will definitely not be perfect.
Aldis cherished the wildest hopes for Mara’s dishes. He did not hide the fact that the composition of the snack, in his opinion, “does not look very appetizing”, and in the rush of events, has already announced that the second evening will be evaluated with the lowest mark: “I think it could be all five.”

Mara admitted that she does not participate in the show to evaluate her, but to enjoy the process. “I don’t care how much they make me,” the model admitted.
However, the enjoyment of the process soon waned – the glass jar in which Māra had already prepared the cottage cheese to take away hurriedly, and Māra announced that she no longer wanted to go anywhere and proposed to cancel the measure. “It’s never been like a jar breaking at home,” she explained.
Dinners were the first to arrive at the agreed time and place. Andris admitted that with people who hinder, he is never on the road. Aldis also pointed out that it is not polite to delay. On the other hand, in Ieva’s opinion, a little hindrance belongs to the case.
Finally, the culprit of the evening was present, and a hike through the forest, which Aldis called a “townsman’s evening walk”, could begin.
Already on the first night of the show Disagreements arose between Alda and Mara, and in the second meeting, the two continued to “grate”, discussing procedures and “pseudo-problems”. “For example, fighting racism,” one of them listed. “Don’t fight racism – fight for humanity,” the model objected.
“I’m immediately very attracted to the fact that from the very beginning I got something in the ‘castle’. But we go through the forest, we are not talking about politics, ”admitted Māra.
During the hike, Mara took her new friends to the place where her son’s second birthday was celebrated, and decided to sit further away from his opponent, Alda, this evening. Without undue delay, a snack was served – desserts with vegetables and cream sauce.
Taking a turn for the evening, Aldis, who described Māris as a “very typical representative of hipsters in the center of Riga”, wondered how he had chosen to serve his main course in plastic containers. Well, Mara’s mayor was full. “You know what I hate about you? Your categorism, ”she admitted to the popular politician. “I don’t like Alda’s categoryism. It seems to me that categorism does not allow development. He sticks to stereotypes, ”she said.
Aldis said that it tends to be ironic and Mara only teases, to which she replied that through teasing the deputy demonstrates her attitude.
Andris wondered something else – how rude Mara tends to be: “Every tenth word for her is what she is.” In turn, Ieva decided that the real sweet food is in fact intense discussions, which are unfolding for the second evening in a row. “Terribly nice. Those people are so great, ”the singer rejoiced at the exciting atmosphere.
After a moment, Māra flashed no joke and turned to Alda: “Stop teasing me and see the beautiful in me! I’m not dangerous to you, you don’t have to look for my bad places, you are safe, I will not hurt you. “
“In principle, Māra is not interested in dialogue. She wants to speak for herself, and then she has to be allowed to do the same, ”admitted Aldis.
Finally, the main course was served – boiled potatoes with cottage cheese and pickled herring.
After enjoying dinner in the fresh air, Māra had also prepared entertainment for her guests – with her twigs found in the forest, everyone in a herd was walking along the sea shore, but in the end they enjoyed a dessert with warm tea – creamy Portuguese cakes from the cafe.
Ieva and Andris rated Māra’s food and presentation with eight points, but Aldis, who had initially stated that Māra’s evening was only five points, rated it the highest of all, awarding nine points.
“What Mara offered was more than I expected. One must learn to enjoy what is given to him. Find in every detail what is pleasant and nice, ”explained the politician.
Mara earned 25 points for her evening.
