President Alberto Fernández questioned the attitude of the opposition and wondered “Why can’t they get vaccinations?” against the coronavirus if they had the possibility to do so, as stated earlier by former President Mauricio Macri. Also criticized the head of government porteo, Horacio Rodrguez Larreta, due to the lack of control in the district and its contradictions.
“If they had the possibility of getting vaccines, as the former president (Mauricio Macri) said, why don’t they get them?” Said the head of state when speaking on the radio in the morning.
“This is how they help me, if what I need is for Argentines to have vaccines. Vaccine that enters is distributed equally by number of inhabitants among the provinces,” the president added.
The President considered that the City’s protocols were not followed.

The President said that with his message released this Wednesday, in which he announced new restrictions to combat the second wave, he wanted to “explain to Argentines how things are”; and stated that “a political space casts doubt on the honesty with which we have worked with the vaccines and they say that it is necessary to investigate how the vaccines were bought ”.
Fernndez made it clear that “There was a law that authorized the national government to buy vaccines and the same law authorized the governors”, while qualifying as “false” the arguments that indicated otherwise.
Faced with this situation, Fernndez argued that there were “governors who did nothing and others tried without luck, because the sale is concentrated and the laboratories decide to negotiate with the nation states” and asserted: “The nation state buys wholesale, let’s say, and get better prices ”.

This Wednesday, the national board of Together for Change met and issued a statement in which it assured that there were “enormous deficiencies in the vaccination campaign, both in the expectations generated, and in the acquisition, administration, distribution and transparency.”
“I am not here to win an election, I am to take care of the people”, said the President, and recalled that, although on other occasions he sought consensus to adopt the measures, in the case of those announced last night, he took them personally.
“This measure was not agreed upon, this measure was taken by me,” said the President, and affirmed that “It is the federal forces that will enforce them if the City Police do not want to do so”.
In this context, he said that there were protocols that were not followed in the city of Buenos Aires: “Make no mistake, if the protocol says that we are two meters away. Does anyone know a two-by-two table? None of that has been fulfilled ”.
He also questioned the head of the Buenos Aires government, Horacio Rodrguez Larreta, when explaining that in the previous measures he sat down to agree with the national government, but later, when announcing them, he criticized them.

“I dialogued, with the closing of the restaurants they asked me not to be at ten o’clock and by consensus it was at eleven o’clock. And when they announced (the measures) they said they did not agree, ”said the President.
“This is not the world in which I dreamed of ruling, it is the one that touched me. I am loyal and consistent with my convictions and my commitment is to society ”, he expressed.
Federal forces will enforce the restrictions if City Police are unwilling to do so.

“Let them say and write what they please, my commitment is to take care of each Argentine, although that forces me to take measures that are very unsightly after a year of pandemic,” said the President.
In addition, he asserted that taking this type of measure “is never pleasant”, although he considered that “it is much less pleasant to see 25,000 people infected per day or in the (hospital). ungrateful”.
