Seventy two firearms and more than 3,000 bullets were seized during a search of the French actor’s home Alain Delonannounced today the public prosecutor’s office, which launched an investigation into illegal gun possession.
The 88-year-old movie star, who is seriously ill, “did not have any permit that would allow him to possess a weapon,” states prosecutor Jean-Kendre Go, in a press release.
The investigation was carried out last Thursday following a report by the supervising judge on February 8: the authorized representative, who is in charge of the legal protection of Alain Delon, found, during a visit, that the actor was in possession of a weapon, explains the prosecutor.
It also established the existence of a shooting range within the actor’s property, collector firearms. Delon had sold his gun collection at auction in 2014.
Having made rare appearances on the big screen since the late 1990s, Alain Delon made headlines in the summer of 2023 when his three children filed a lawsuit against his partner Hiromi Rolen, alleging abuse of his infirmity.
Since the end of January, the actor, who suffers from lymphoma, has been placed under the regime of judicial protection. Justice has appointed a legal representative tasked with helping him during his medical follow-up, which is at the center of a bitter dispute between Anthony’s three children, Anouska and Alain-Fabian.
The issue of the presence of weapons inside Delon’s property, where the actor had said he would like to end his life, was at the center of new accusations between Anouska and Anthony.
“The worst,” explains his daughter actor in an interview with Elle magazine, “is that although Anthony and Alain-Fabian know I hate guns—my father liked them, a kind of masculinity from another age, he had a collection, they walk around the house armed (…). My brothers believe in the Wild West.”
The eldest son of the family soon responded with a post on Instagram, calling his sister’s interview “pernicious”.
“Let’s talk about firearms,” he replied. “You spent the summer shooting a Glock (pistol) with your lover, a former member of the GIGN (elite gendarmerie unit) and Duchy’s head of security, in order to return the pistol to your home in Geneva, as you remembered dad. For someone who shakes weapons, you seem very brave and gifted, according to him.’
“As far as I’m concerned, I’ve been walking around armed for a long time now, and I’ve sorted out this ridiculous identification problem that has cost me dearly in the past,” he added.
