(CNN) An Alabama woman who was born with two wombs has successfully given birth to twin babies who were conceived at the same time in each womb.

According to the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital, Kelsey Hatcher, 39, gave birth to her third and fourth children over a period of 20 hours over the course of the 19th and 20th.

First, at 7:45 p.m. on the 19th, she gave birth to a child who was pregnant in her right uterus. The contractions in the left side of my uterus continued as I nursed the baby girl, whom I named Roxy.

About 10 hours later, at 6:10 a.m. on the 20th, a second baby girl was born by cesarean section and was named Rebel.

Doctors say two babies can be considered fraternal twins even if they are born from different wombs a day apart. “After all, there were two babies in the same womb at the same time, just in different rooms,” the doctor said.

Generally speaking, the probability that a woman with two uteruses will become pregnant in each uterus at the same time is about 1 in 2 billion. However, because the cases are so rare, there are no solid statistics.

“I never dreamed that my pregnancy and birth would turn out like this, but my goal was to safely welcome two healthy babies into this world.” “However, I think it would be better to have separate birthdays.” It makes sense, because they were both children in their own ‘homes’ and now they both have their own birth stories.” Hatcher commented.
