Ter-al-Shabaab terror group has claimed the attack that killed at least 90 people in the Somali capital Mogadishu on Saturday.
Terrorists left one in the morning rush hour truck explode at a checkpoint. Most of the victims were students and students who were on their way to school by bus. It was one of the deadliest attacks ever in the country.
Two Turkish road workers were also killed who were working at the busy intersection. The al-Shabaab spokesperson today announced through an audio message that the two and their bodyguards were the actual targets of the attack. The extremists would like to hit Turkey, which in their eyes plays too great a role in Somalia.
Compassion
The spokesman expressed his condolences to the relatives of the dozens of others who died in the explosion.
The expectation is that the death toll will rise further due to the attack. Because of the devastating explosion, it is difficult to identify the victims.
