Al-Ahly Club Signs Brazilian Defender Roger Ibanez from Roma

Al-Ahly Club announced, on Thursday, the official contract with Brazilian Roger Ibanez, to support the defense line of the first football team, until 2026, from Roma, Italy.
The Brazilian defender became the Western club’s sixth deal, during the current summer transfer season, after contracting with Senegalese Edouard Mendy, Brazilian Roberto Firmino, Algerian Riyad Mahrez, Frenchman Alain Saint-Maximin, and Ivorian Frank Kessie.
And the Western club published, on its official account on the “X” social networking platform, “Twitter previously”, a video clip of the completion of the deal, the signing of Ibanez, and a welcome to the player.
In its issue issued last Wednesday, Al-Riyadh indicated, according to sources, that the Al-Ahly administration is awaiting the results of the medical examinations that the Brazilian defender conducted, after it agreed with his former club, Roma, to buy the player’s contract, to join the team for a period of 3 seasons.
The 24-year-old Brazilian defender, with Roma, won the European Conference League championship for the 2021-2022 season.
The player, whose market value amounted to 30 million euros, played 44 matches with his team last season, including 36 in the Italian League, 13 in the “European League”, and two matches in the Italian Cup.
Ibanez defended the colors of Fluminense, Sergipe and Pearce clubs in his country, during the years 20017-20018, and Italian Atalanta during the period from 2019 to 2021, before he represented Rome for eight million euros.
Ibanez also represented the Brazilian under-23 national team, and wore the first national team’s logo at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
