Airplane passes close to the sandy beaches of the Algarve and launches panic – News

An Airbus A380-841, the largest commercial airplane in the world, passed by the beaches of Albufeira and Faro this Wednesday afternoon, August 5th, and scared bathers, especially those who were on Falésia beach, in Albufeira municipality. Apparently, the plane that took off from Beja at 2:30 pm and flew over the area for about an hour, was doing a training flight, as the “Morning mail“.

The plane passed an altitude of 230 meters (755 feet), according to the Flight Radar 24 specialty website, well below the recommended minimum of 610 meters (2 thousand feet), reason why it caused strangeness to those who were on the beaches, and “put the lives of many people at risk”, according to several tourists, according to “CM”.

Several people even called 112 for fear that the Airbus A380-841 would crash. “I find it shameful to do this with so many people on the beach,” said a tourist to the same newspaper.

However, it is known that the flight was authorized by Navegação Aérea de Portugal (NAV), a state company that guarantees the safe and efficient provision of air navigation services, which guaranteed that “safety standards were met”. Even so, the Faro control tower was forced to report the altitude reached on the flight commanded by the vice president of Hi Fly, the pilot Carlos Mirpuri.

A position is now awaited by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Housing on a possible investigation into the characteristics of the flight.
