This year, Swiss International Air Lines will probably have operated, on average, less than half of its capacity. This inactivity certainly reduces costs. But, obviously, without compensating for the collapse in revenue. The main Swiss airline would thus consume 1.5 million francs every day.

For several months now, and this will last at least until the end of March, Swiss no longer operates its direct flight from Geneva to New York. Are you not worried that such a saving measure constitutes a big commercial risk for the company? And a big loss for the connection of international Geneva with the world?
Stopping the Geneva-New York flight will not cause any harm. It remains provisional. Demand will indeed prove decisive in determining which destinations will be restored after the crisis. Around the world, authorities have also taken measures, such as derogations from the rules on slot waivers, in order not to lose landing rights acquired after flights canceled due to the coronavirus.
