Air Caraïbes forced to reduce sail in French Guiana and the Antilles

No second Air Caraïbes flight to Guyana yet. The company will only make one Paris-Cayenne rotation per week. Many passengers learned the same day of these flight schedule cancellations and changes.

Due to the health situation, the airline’s flight schedule has been changed. If since Friday June 26, the flights operate again from Orly, the number is reduced compared to the planned program.
Instead of the 5 return flights per week scheduled for Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, under normal circumstances, only one flight to Guyana is maintained for the moment. Besides, that of June 26 started well from Roissy. However, the return flight will take place the next day, Saturday June 27, not the same evening. Next flight announced from Paris for Guyana on July 2. Return flight to Paris on July 3.

We are forced by health measures and by restrictions on flights to Guyana, as to the West Indies from Paris, to have a reduced program. This week we only have one flight authorized for Guyana. It is a government decision with prefectural but government orders. We are a little warned over the water. We were warned earlier this week. We have been warned, but there may be changes. The cancellation does not date from today. What I can advise passengers is to look on our site and on our site it is indicated in reality that the flights are canceled or maintained.

Olivier BESNARD, Managing Director of Air Caraïbes

For its part, Air France thus announces three commercial flights against the five originally scheduled. From July 6, the company hoped to display 1 flight per day. Finally, the forecast would be more than 3 flights per week.
As for Air Caraïbes, the company hopes to achieve at least two flights a week round trip Paris-Cayenne by early July. A decision always submitted to the authorities according to the evolution of the epidemic in Guyana.
Note that several disgruntled passengers, in particular those of the flight of June 29 which was canceled, announce that a gathering will take place Monday June 29 at 11:30 am at the Felix-Eboué airport.
