Spokesperson for the National Winning Team (TPN) Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud Md, Aiman Witjaksono, was summoned by Polda Metro Jaya for clarification regarding the statement that ‘the police are not neutral’. TPN spoke about Aiman’s presence today.
“We didn’t say that we weren’t present, we said earlier that we were completing the power of attorney,” said Ronny Talapessy when met at the TPN Ganjar-Mahfud media center, Jakarta, Thursday (30/11/2023).
As TPN’s director of law and studies, Ronny Talapessy, said that his party was still completing the power of attorney. According to him, there are a thousand lawyers who are willing to accompany Aiman.
“There are 1,000 lawyers who are willing to become Mas Aiman’s lawyers. They told us ‘we are ready to stand behind Mas Aiman and we will accompany Mas Aiman Witjaksono’,” said Ronny.
Aiman’s Protest Response Policy
Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko responded to Aiman who protested because the police delivered a summons for clarification to his house in the middle of the night. Trunoyudo emphasized that this was in accordance with procedure.
“The reference is just procedurally, in our country the rule of law is of course the legal procedures that we follow. Regarding this matter, of course tomorrow (today) will be clarified, yes, the clarification is in the investigation phase,” said Trunoyudo.
He said clarification from the reporting party and the reported party was needed in the investigation process. The purpose, he said, is to give the reporter and the reported person the rights to provide information.
“So that this can become a fact of truth and of course transparency and then also balance,” he added.
Aiman Residence Visit Policy
Spokesperson for the National Winning Team (TPN) Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud Md, Aiman Witjaksono, admitted that the police visited his residence at 23.50 WIB. The arrival of the police was intended to deliver a letter summoning clarification to Polda Metro Jaya.
“In my opinion, it’s not normal to send an invitation to visit. My child, who is still in middle school and elementary school age, of course woke up and was also shocked and asked his mother who was interrupting him. His mother answered that it was from the police, so of course she was surprised,” answered Aiman when asked about the chronology of the incident.
Aiman and TPN also objected and took issue with the time the police arrived and treated it as if there was no other time
“But yes, that’s the fact of what happened. I thought, is there no other time to deliver the letter? That’s the question for me and the legal team. Because if we want to visit, of course even after 9 pm is not comfortable. Moreover, it’s close to midnight (at) 23.50, approaching 00.00 WIB,” said Aiman to journalists, at the TPN Ganjar-Mahfud media center.
