Indonesian men’s doubles, Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan beat the South Korean pair, Choi Sol-gyu/Seo Sung-jae through the rubber game 21-12, 19-21, 21-18 in badminton Tokyo 2020 Olympics, Tuesday (27/7) afternoon WIB.

This victory made Ahsan / Hendra qualify as group D winners after sweeping the victory from three matches that have been passed.

Ahsan/Hendra had a tight duel against Choi/Seo at the beginning of the first game. The points earned by the two pairs were tied at 2-2 until Ahsan / Hendra moved away to lead 5-2.

Ahsan / Hendra can maintain that point advantage. The Daddies can also keep the margin of advantage to four points, 8-4.

Choi/Seo had won one point but Ahsan/Hendra were able to close the first game interval with 11-5. After the interval, the dominance of Ahsan / Hendra was increasingly difficult to stem from the South Korean double.

Ahsan/Hendra were able to lead 17-10, 18-10 and could close the first game with 21-12.

In the second game, Ahsan/Hendra immediately shot up with a 6-3 lead over Choi/Seo. However, the acquisition of Ahsan/Hendra points was able to be chased by Choi/Seo who played calmly in turning off the opponent’s game until they finally managed to make the score 10-10.

Choi/Seo who are increasingly confident can even close the second game interval with 11-10. After the interval, Ahsan / Hendra found the momentum to win three consecutive points and make the score draw 13-13.

Once the score was even, Choi/Seo displayed a fast game that was difficult for Ahsan/Hendra to match so that the points gained again widened to 16-13.

That advantage can be maintained by Choi/Seo to achieve game point 20-16. Ahsan / Hendra were able to win three consecutive points to reduce the position, but Choi / Seo were able to get one crucial point to win 21-19.

In the deciding game, Ahsan/Hendra could immediately lead 5-1 over Choi/Seo. Choi/Seo tried to catch up and the effort paid off to make the score 4-5.

Ahsan/Hendra remained calm even though Choi/Seo were so eager to turn things around. This calm allowed Ahsan / Hendra to keep their 11-7 advantage to close the third game interval.

The four-point margin was not able to be maintained by Ahsan/Hendra. The persistent resistance from Choi/Seo often makes Ahsan Hendra die and catch up with points to draw 13-13.

After the score was even, the points for the two pairs continued to be tight. Ahsan/Hendra more cleverly took advantage of the opportunity because of mistakes that were often made by Choi/Seo until they finally won 21-18.
