AHM’s Response to the Viral Issue of Honda’s eSAF Frame and Yellow Spots on Motorbikes

Recently, there has been a viral issue regarding the eSAF frame made by Honda, which is accused of being porous and easily broken. PT Astra Honda Motor (AHM) gave an official response to this circulating issue.

As conveyed by the General Manager of Corporate Communication of Astra Honda Motor (AHM) Ahmad Muhibbuddin, there were several points that AHM conveyed in response to the issue of the eSAF (enhanced Smart Architecture Frame) framework.

“From the manufacturer’s point of view, we would like to convey that AHM’s commitment to the quality of Honda motorbikes produced and marketed in Indonesia cannot be doubted. We are trying to provide the highest quality products in accordance with the quality tests that we carry out. That there are problems that our customers complain about too. try to respond quickly,” Muhib told reporters at the Astra Honda Motor Safety Riding Park & ​​Training Center in Cikarang, Bekasi, Wednesday (23/8/2023).

“Second, we want to convey that every new motorcycle product that we send to consumers has gone through a quality test, that is a priority for us. Because quality is indeed the most important, especially for us, so that we can accompany consumers to ride safely and comfortably.” Muhib continued.

Furthermore, Muhib also gave an explanation regarding the viral videos explaining the rusty undercarriage of the Honda scooter even though it was still in new condition. Muhib said, it was not rusty, but a harmless layer of silicate.

“Third, in the market there are yellow spots on Honda motorbikes. There are some consumers who find, we would like to convey, that these spots are actually not rust, but a layer of silicate which is harmless and does not cause porous,” explained Muhib.

“This layer has the function of coating the results of welding and can also prevent oxidation. This is a normal thing and is not dangerous. Honda motorbike owners need not worry because it is not rust and does not affect comfort and safety, for new motorbikes,” he continued.

“If there are complaints about Honda motorcycles, we advise consumers not to hesitate to visit our AHASS network. We will conduct an inspection directly. We will handle them quickly,” he said.
